Everything you need to prepare for your at-home Mahjong lesson. The short version: I bring almost everything. You just need to set the table.

I'm so excited for our upcoming time together - it's going to be fun, hands-on, and full of "aha!" moments. Here's a quick prep checklist for our lesson at your location.

What I bring

I'll bring everything needed to learn Mahjong the easy, joyful way - tiles, racks, mats, teaching tools, and handouts - so there's nothing you need to prepare on that front.

If you already have an American Mahjong set and would like to use it, we absolutely can - just let me know when I get there.

I'll plan to come a few minutes early to set up, so we can begin right on time.

What you provide

You'll need to provide the seating and tables - I don't bring them with me. Tables that comfortably seat four are ideal, but don't worry if your setup looks a little different. We can absolutely make it work.

The main thing is having a chair for each person attending, so everyone can settle in and play comfortably.

Food & drink

You're very welcome to provide and enjoy snacks and refreshments during the lesson - water, coffee, wine, cocktails or mocktails, and light bites are all great. They go great with Mahjong.

I just ask that any full meals happen before we start or after we finish, so we can stay in learning mode. If you're serving snacks, non-sticky, non-greasy options work best (the tiles will thank you).
