The 2026 Card Challenge - Free

$0.00

The whole 2026 card, one hand at a time.

You have your hands. The five or six you reach for the second the tiles are sorted, the ones that feel like home. The rest of the card sits there untouched, year after year, like rooms in a house you never walk into.

This year, walk into the other rooms. The Card Challenge is one quiet goal: play every hand on the 2026 card before the year is out, in any order, at whatever pace your week allows. There is no clock on a single hand; you just keep showing up and try the ones you usually skip.

What this is

A free, one-page printable tracker for the 2026 NMJL card. It lists all nine sections so you can check off each hand the first time you play it

What's inside

  • The full 2026 card, all nine sections. 2026, 2468, Any Like Numbers, Quints, Consecutive Run, 13579, Winds and Dragons, 369, and Singles and Pairs, laid out on a single page.

  • A check box for every hand, and a date when you accomplished it. Watching the page fill in across the year is quietly addictive, and it is proof you are playing with purpose.

  • Any order you like. Start where you feel weakest, or start where you are curious. The card does not care which room you enter first.

  • Counts for any way you play. A four-player game at your table counts; a game on I Love Mahj counts too, whether it is a full four or a two-player Siamese hand. (New to online play? My I Love Mahj link gives you three weeks free.) SoloMahj counts as well… you build it, you count it.

Who this is for

This is for the player who already knows how to play and wants to get better without overthinking it. You can run the Charleston, you can read the card, and you have your favorites. The Challenge is to stretch past them.

Newer than that? You can still join. Play the hands you know now, add the harder sections as your confidence grows, and let the tracker show you how far you have come by December.

The details

One page, printable, full color. It is free; add it to cart and check out, and the tracker lands in your inbox. You will need the current 2026 NMJL card and a way to play, in person or online.

This one is on the house. Download it, print it, mark it up.

One more thing

Hot tip from Gaia: do not save the hard sections for last. Play one hand from your weakest section early, while the year is long and the pressure is nothing. The sections you avoid are exactly the ones that make you better.
